Squaw Valley Opens Up About Water Problems

Plenty of people have probably heard about the water issues that the Squaw Valley Resort is having. The one thing that the resort wants everyone to know is that they are still open and they are still allowing guests to participate in sports while they are at the location. They are doing their best to cater to all of their guests and they know that this is an important part of customer service for the guests that they have. They want to make sure that their guests are able to get the most out of the situation and this is something that has always been an important part of the way that they do things.

When Squaw Valley found out that the water had been compromised through one of their new filtration systems, they immediately contacted the Placer County environmental agency to make sure that nothing was wrong with the water. They found that there were actually big problems with the water and they immediately stopped using it for drinking and in the restaurants that are a part of the resort. The county recommended that they do that because it would be the easiest way for them to make sure that things were not contaminated or damaged.

The best part of the situation is that it happened during the off season. There were no guests that were currently skiing there when that went on and the restaurants were not opened for the season. Because of the location of the restaurants that were in the resort, they are not able to operate due to the water. This is something that the restaurant has done to protect the guests. The restaurants have not been opened since the time that the issue was found. They are going to reopen as soon as the water problem is solved.

As opening day approached, Squaw Valley made the decision to still open. They are letting guests know that they can do everything there other than eat or drink at the restaurants. The trails were not affected in any way by the water incident and people can still feel safe when they are at the resort as long as they do not drink the water. The levels in the water are heading down back to where they need to be but it will still be a few weeks before they are completely back to the Placer County recommendations at http://www.sierrasun.com/news/environment/squaw-valley-issues-statement-on-upper-mountain-water-quality/.
