First Midwest Pickleball Conference Accomplished Goals
This last Wednesday, we had a great Pickleball Conference put on by Paul Olson of Pickleball Source One, at Champion’s Hall in Eden Prairie. It was focused on (1) improving communication between all the Pickleball locations across the upper Midwest; (2) sharing what has worked and what hasn’t in growing individual programs; (3) learning how to market events and programs; and, (4) getting to know each other.
Focusing on the managers, administrators and directors of Park and Recreation Departments, private health clubs and sporting venues, I am proud to announce that we had a packed house with over sixty people attending! Running from 9:30am to about 2p, Champion’s Hall was gracious in providing an excellent lunch for all attendees.
Much was accomplished, and apparently well received, given the number of responses for announcements we have received at PickleballMinnesota.com in the last two days. Five presentations were given and the Question-Answer sessions were robust and very interactive. Many discussions were shared over lunch, with quite a bit of sharing of ideas.
One fact that Jerry Maas pointed out is that we already have five Pickleball tournaments in the development stage for this summer, in Minnesota alone; and I’ve heard of one new one today that would like to be up and running in March if we can pull it off time-wise. In speaking with the Pickleball location contacts in Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois lately, there are a number of tournaments in the works. We will be posting them on our websites as they come in. I you know of a tournament coming up or in the plans, please let us know by filling out the Online Tournament Form at: https://pickleballminnesota.com/pickleball-tournament-listings/
Well, that’s enough for now. Stay tuned, and if you like this page, let the world know by giving us a “Like”.
