Welcome to Minnesota Pickleball!
So, “What is Pickleball?”
Well, we don’t really play with pickles……..
Pickleball is a racquet sport; much like a combination of badminton, table tennis, tennis, racquetball and similar sports.
Pickleball is played on a court about one third the size of a tennis court. The ball we use is a Whiffle Ball. The racquets we use are similar to table tennis paddles, but a little larger and built to handle the larger ball; but smaller than a racquetball racquet. The net across the court is like that on a tennis court, but just a little lower in height. And, the markings on the court are much like those of a tennis court, badminton court, or table tennis.
We play games to eleven points, you must win by two points; and, doubles play is the norm, but singles is growing in popularity.
Now, that should leave you with even more questions, so how about you take a couple of minutes and be entertained by the video at the bottom of this page. It will do a much better job of describing Pickleball than I can in just a few words.
A Little Bit About Our Website:
This Website is what is known as a ‘Blog’. That means it is set up for communication, in addition to being a website. It is capable of allowing registered users to leave messages for each other, check on calendars of events, and discuss topics of interest. It is really very EASY to participate. It’s easier than what you did to arrive at this site!
Take a moment and look around this page. You will see menu across the top which provides shortcuts to various areas of the site. Along the right side of the page are some other links to areas (some the same as linked by the menu at the top, but arranged differently for better understanding and ease of access).
Most importantly, at the bottom of discussion pages, you will find the opportunity to participate in the discussion by leaving a comment, ask questions, or follow along with what is being commented on regarding the subject of the page. Sound confusing? Not to worry, you will catch on in a ‘snap’. It’s really very easy.
If you have any questions, please feel comfortable in contacting me directly.

(And we require the registration and log-in so that we don’t get flooded with the ‘Internet Nasties’; the people who like to spam websites interrupt great sites.) So, if you would, leave us your comments.
Pickleball is a great sport for all ages. A cross between tennis, racquetball, table tennis, and badminton, it is a great way to help keep active, in-shape, and involved.
